Website Worth Sharing: SpongeLab

spongelab2Spongelabs http://www.spongelab.com is a site with a variety of teaching resources including images, games and simulations, animations and videos, lesson plans and more. You need to create an account in order to access their content, but it is free of charge.

Some of the resources are better quality than others, but overall I think it would be worth your time to explore what is available. Many of the simulations would work great on a SMARTboard. You also have the option of creating a class and assigning activities to your students. They login with your unique class code in order to access the materials. I found the class creation/lesson assigning process a little complicated, but it’s doable if you would like to have your students complete one of these activities in a lab. The image below shows some of the menu and resources options you get when you create an account.
